Ethnic wear rental in Singapore
Culture Closet is a peer-to-peer ethnic wear rental marketplace in Singapore, where you rent sarees, lehengas, sherwanis and kurtas directly from people near you.
An outfit worn once for a wedding sits in a wardrobe for years. Culture Closet puts those outfits back into circulation: owners list what they already have, renters book it for the days they need, and the outfit goes home afterwards. Payment is handled in the app.
Frequently asked questions
What is Culture Closet?
Culture Closet is a peer-to-peer ethnic wear rental marketplace in Singapore. You rent sarees, lehengas, sherwanis and kurtas directly from the people who own them, rather than from a shop, and you can lend out your own wardrobe to earn from outfits you already have.
Where does Culture Closet operate?
Singapore. Every listing belongs to someone living here, and you collect the outfit in person or have it delivered locally.
What can I rent on Culture Closet?
Sarees, lehengas, kurtas, sherwanis, indo-western sets, ethnic skirts, blouses and kidswear. Listings are sorted by occasion, so you can browse straight to wedding, sangeet, mehendi, haldi, engagement or party outfits.
How much does it cost to rent an outfit?
The owner sets a price per day, and you pay for the days you book plus a 4% service fee and a flat $5.90 cleaning fee. Optional damage cover is offered at checkout.
How do I receive the outfit?
Each owner chooses whether they meet up or deliver, and their listing says which. Meet-ups happen at a place the owner nominates, usually an MRT station or mall near them.
How much do lenders earn on Culture Closet?
You set your own daily price and keep 90% of it. Culture Closet takes 10% commission, and the cleaning fee is passed on to you in full. Payouts go to your bank account through Stripe after the rental completes.
What happens if an outfit is damaged?
Renters choose a damage cover plan at checkout, or decline it and cover any damage themselves. Every booking records the outfit condition beforehand, and disputes are handled by our team.
